“Isola di Cortona” is a compound of six houses that have been renovated on the property once owned by the Cavalieri di Santo Stefano. The entire property extends beyond 20,000 square meters with a shared green space of approximately 4000 square meters, including a parking, a field that can be used for sports or entertainment.
The property is fenced and accessible through a beautiful entrance.
Each villa includes its own private covered parking, gazebo with pool, and lush garden. Each house has a generous terraced outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining. The property is located in an area rich with history and vibrancy. The compound is at once private and gated with each house being self-contained and autonomous, making the houses ideal for short and long stays, for both touristic or residential aim.The property is well maintained throughout and provided with active vigilance; the building and gardening services can be extended to the individual houses upon request.
GUIDE LINES OF THE PROJECT
The houses have been constructed with traditional materials and workmanship of the highest order, with particular attention paid to the selection and use of materials. At the same time the houses have been upgraded to modern standards of construction for all seasons, including reinforced structures, the latest material standards, and efficiency of the mechanical infrastructure.
The plots have been designed to be on two levels so as to maximize the panoramic views and to maintain a high level of privacy and security.
The construction quality is evidenced by the traditional materials used throughout the property: chestnut wood and terracotta for the structures of the floors and roof; terracotta in various forms for the construction of floors and roofing, as well as for numerous details such as chimneys, eaves projections, and arches; “pietra serena” for the construction of facade walls, fireplaces, steps, window sills and door and window frames, outdoor flooring. Italian travertine for cladding and flooring; the plaster for covering internal and some external walls; copper for the gutters and downspouts.
In the five villas yet to be completed, the owners are free to select materials to fit their tastes and budget.
